2 Months!

Sorry for the delay in posting Hailey's 2 month pictures. We had a camera malfunction and are temporarily borrowing one (thanks dad and mom G). At 2 months Hailey loves to crack smiles, especially at mommy. She can roll over from her tummy to her back making tummy time a challenge as we can't keep her on her tummy! After sucking on her fists for awhile she finally found her thumb which she enjoys. At her 2 month check up she weighed 10 pounds 13 ounces.

We have learned how "different" Hailey is from Drew at this stage. When Drew turned 2 months he still had another 20 days to spend in the hospital. At 2 months Drew weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces. He still was on oxygen, an apnea monitor, and had a feeding tube.

We know that we truly cannot compare our 2 children because they both entered the world in very different circumstances, but it is impossible as parents not to notice and appreciate the good health that Hailey has been given and makes us sad at the same time to see some of the things we didn't get with Drew, such as all the snuggles we get with Hailey while holding Drew was so limited for so long. BUT...regardless, we are so blessed to have Drew and Hailey here with us today, no matter what differences they have, they are both fulfilling God's plan for them.

ZOO!

A few weeks ago we made a trip to the Wildlife World Zoo. We wanted to do something special for Drew for making it a week in his new "car boots." The weather was beautiful, and we had a great time!

1 Month Old

I am a little behind in my blogging since I missed Hailey's 1 month birthday! At 1 month old, so far Hailey loves her bath, loves to eat, likes to move (stroller/car ride), and loves her pacifier. She had her 1 month checkup at the doctor and tipped the scale and 9 pounds 8 ounces. It is hard to believe she has been in our family 1 month all ready! We love her dearly. Drew is starting to realize this kid isn't going to leave, and he now seems to be amused by her a bit. He now likes to help take her socks off and puts the pacifier in her mouth. He also likes to give her kisses (so precious). Sticking with a tradition that I started with Drew, here are a few pictures of Hailey at 1 month.

Part 3- More Visitors and baptism

Justin's parents also make the trek down from MN to meet Hailey. We enjoyed the time we got to spend with them and took a lot of walks enjoying the nice weather before it hits the 100+ degree temps again. Justin's brother, Jordan, and his wife Jessica also drove down from Kingman to spend the weekend with us. They, as well as Justin's parents, were able to see Hailey's baptism which took place on Sunday, April 18. Following tradition, Hailey wore the baptism dress that I wore for my baptism, just as Drew wore the outfit that Justin wore for his baptism.

Part 2-Easter

Easter Sunday was the first outing for our little family of 4 without any extra family around to help. We survived and even made it to church on time to have cinnamon rolls, an Easter Sunday tradition at our church. The kids got Easter goodies from us and baskets from Grandpa and Grandma DW. Drew enjoyed looking through his and then had too look through Hailey's basket as well.

A LONG overdue entry! PART-1

Lots to write about! Sorry for the lack in posts. Let me overcap what has been going on in the past month!

After a heavily watched pregnancy and 15+ ultrasounds, we finally got to meet that sweet little face we kept seeing in all of the ultrasound pictures. I went in for a routine doctor appointment on March 22. After the appointment Justin and I were going to go on a date and bring Drew to a friend's house for them to look after him. Well, date night got postponed after the Dr. said I needed to go to the hospital. I was pretty sure I did not have to go to the hospital, but we made arrangements, went home and got bags packed, brought Drew away, and checked into the hospital. Good thing we listened to the Dr. and not my stubborn self because Hailey Faith was born a few hours later at 2:45 a.m. on March 23. She was 20 inches long and weighed 6 pounds 12 ounces. She is a healthy, beautiful baby girl and we are so thankful for a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby.

We came home from the hospital the following day. (strange feeling after waiting 80 days to take Drew home) My parents came for a visit and to help out around the house. We are so appreciate of all the help they gave. They did yard work, cleaned the house, made meals, fixed things around the house, helped watch Drew and did his therapy exercises with him etc... We were even able to do some scrapbooking!

While my parents were visiting, my grandma from Montana flew down for a couple of days to spend time with us and see her great grandkids. We had a great time with her as well.
